Kathleen, (Kate) was born in Hull 28th June1914 and the love of knowledge was her life. Kathleen became a teacher in secondary education. Biology was her subject and she taught for many years at Bentley Girls Secondary School in Doncaster. I remember visiting the school and seeing glass cases full of living insects etc including about four hives of bees. A very stimulating room. Kathleen became deputy head teacher, however, when the school changed to being ‘Comprehensive’ she decided to move to primary. Below is a picture of her school at Armthorpe, just outside Doncaster, where she was the head teacher. Kathleen never married and lived with her school teaching friend miss Crowther. Her hobbies were photography, history and her beloved dogs. They all lived at 74 Town Moor Avenue in Doncaster for most of their lives.
